Facial Injuries Reconstruction Surgery

Facial injuries can be very stressful for many patients. Such injuries can result in a significant amount of pain and potentially long-term physical damage if a professional does not treat them in a timely manner. Some patients also experience a loss of self-esteem and may be uncomfortable going out in public because of a facial injury.

Whether you experience a fractured bone or cut to the face, or have scarring as a result of a facial injury, reconstructive surgery can restore both your function and aesthetic appeal. Dr. Martin Jugenburg, chief plastic and reconstructive surgeon of the Plastica Clinic offers patients the most advanced surgical treatments for facial injuries. His extensive experience performing facial surgeries, using the most advanced treatments and technology available, make the Plastica Clinic the clear choice for the most conscientious of patients. Dr. Jugenburg and his professional team always make patient safety their first priority, listening to the needs of the patient and providing informative feedback, in the stress-free comfort of our clinics.

Nasal Fractures

Nasal fractures (broken nose) can lead to impaired nasal breathing, snoring at night, and its appearance can have a strong negative impact on your self esteem. If you have a new injury, you should seek medical attention before the broken bones heal in place, to allow for correction without surgery. If your break is old and healed, it can be corrected only through surgery.

Orbital Fractures

Fractures of the bones around the orbital cavity (eye socket) can interfere with eye movement and can lead to blindness. If vision is affected, surgery is certainly indicated.

Zygomatic Fractures

Zygomatic (cheek bone) fractures, aside from creating a visible facial abnormality, can interfere with chewing and eye movement. If you think you may have a broken cheek bone, you should see medical attention before the bone heals in its broken position. If you think you vision is being affected, you should seek medical attention immediately.

Mandibular Fractures

Mandibular (jaw) fractures are amongst the most common facial fractures (after nasal fractures). Treatment options can include soft diet, screws and plates, and wiring of teeth together. If you think you may have a broken jaw, you should seek medical attention early to avoid potentially severe infections and misalignment of your teeth.

Facial Cuts and Scars

Cuts and scars are a common problem with which patients present to Plastic Surgeon. There are many different ways of treating and hiding scars to improve your appearance, although there are time when very little improvement can be offered. If you feel you have a cut or a scar that you think needs to be corrected, please contact us to arrange a consultation.
