Vertical vs Inverted-T Breast Reduction

There are two main types of Breast Reduction: Vertical and Classical (Inverted T).

The technique is the Vertical Breast Reduction, whose name refers to the fact that the scar is limited to only the vertical scar. The old technique, referred to as Inverted T or Wise Pattern, has an additional scar which runs under the breast (along the inframammary crease) and is often rather unsightly. With the evolution of the Vertical Breast Reduction, surgeons are now realizing that a cosmetically pleasing breast shape can be created without the need for the large inframammary scar.
